She was always there for me, though always busy

Catering to the needs of the entire family

Sunrise to sunset throughout on her feet

Never did she forget to smile even for a minute.
 

When all relaxed did she take time off

Binding our books and mending our clothes

Hastily she would rush to her abode on time

To satisfy our needs with lip-smacking snacks.

We took her for granted during our growing up years

Thought she wouldn’t know about our problems

Silently she tolerated all our tantrums

Standing by us whenever we rushed for guidance.

Mamma I miss u intensely today

How much I wish that you were nearby

Be with me when I’m depressed and lonely

As I move on in this challenging world of today.
